Operator interface for heavy machinery fleet management

Client: MOBA

[Case Study Hero Image]

Overview

MOBA required a modern interface layer for their heavy machinery fleet management system. Field operators needed quick access to machine status and diagnostics from mobile devices, while fleet managers needed aggregated views for planning, compliance, and maintenance scheduling across large deployments.

The Challenge

The challenge was designing an interface that worked equally well for a technician standing next to a machine in a construction site and a fleet manager reviewing hundreds of assets from an office. Connectivity conditions in the field are unpredictable, and the interface had to remain functional with intermittent or low-bandwidth connections.

Our Solution

Ermit designed a responsive, progressive web application with offline-first architecture. The mobile interface provides contextual machine cards with real-time telemetry, while the desktop view offers fleet-wide analytics, geolocation maps, and maintenance planning tools. Data synchronization works seamlessly across connectivity states.

Results

45% Faster field response
500+ Fleet assets managed
+30% Maintenance planning accuracy

The new interface is deployed across MOBA's customer base. Field response times for maintenance issues have improved, and fleet managers report better planning accuracy thanks to real-time operational data.
