Welcome to Allerte DPC, the official app of the Italian Civil Protection Department that provides timely public alerts in case of serious emergencies.

This guide will help you understand how the app works and how to configure it properly.

🔹 What is Allerte DPC

Allerte DPC is a free tool provided to citizens to receive real-time alerts regarding:

  • natural events (earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, etc.);
  • chemical, industrial, or nuclear risks;
  • other emergencies that may endanger the population.

🔹 How it works

The app receives push notifications from the national IT-Alert system or other official sources, showing:

  • the type of event,
  • the affected area,
  • any instructions to follow.

You can:

  • enable alerts based on your current location (requires GPS);
  • manually select areas of interest (e.g., where your family lives);
  • check the history of received alerts;

🔹 How to get started

  1. Install the app and open it.
  2. If desired, allow location access to receive location-based alerts.
  3. Select one or more geographic areas of interest.
  4. Enable notifications and ensure the system does not limit the app’s background activity.

⚠️ No registration or personal data is required.

🔹 What you’ll find in the app

  • Home: list of received alerts.
  • Areas of interest: choose geographic areas to monitor and enable/disable notifications.
  • Settings: access privacy policy, FAQ, and contact details.

🔹 Privacy and security

Allerte DPC is designed with full respect for your privacy:

  • It does not collect personal data.
  • No account is required.
  • Preferences are saved only on your device.
